Retro Charter
Mojiko Port has been the site of active exchanges of people and goods since ancient times, and in the modern era since the Meiji era, it has formed a unique economic and cultural sphere as one of the leading trading ports in Japan. The magnificent and beautiful waterfront across the Kanmon Straits is an irreplaceable asset.
We have established this Charter in order to pass on to the future the message of the wonderful scenery and long history that this city has inherited.
We will protect the beautiful nature and landscape of the strait city, and strive to preserve and utilize historical buildings as a trace of Moji’s prosperity.
We will create a dignified port town culture that encompasses the changes and diversity of the times, and that we can enjoy together in a relaxed and cohesive manner.
We will strive to discover unique “things” that have been nurtured through the traditions of this town and create an attractive Mojiko brand.
We aim to be a “city where people with rich hearts live” who love the historical city and cherish encounters and excitement.
(May 2005 Formulated to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Mojiko Port Retro Club)
